Choose a Boiler by Application, Not Tonnage: Laundry, Beverage and Pharma Compared

In short

Most enquiries start with “What capacity do I need?” The better first question is “What is the steam for?” A laundry, a beverage plant and a pharmaceutical factory need very different boiler configurations — and tonnage is the last thing to decide.

01Start with the steam, not the size

Many customers open an enquiry with one sentence: “How many tons do I need?” After building boilers since 1998, we would rather you answer another question first: what is your steam for? Different uses need completely different configurations; capacity is the last thing to fix, not the first.

02Laundries: volume and stability

In a laundry, steam drives ironers, dryers and washers, so what matters most is volume and stability. When the shift starts, many machines draw steam at once and the load jumps straight to its peak.

At that moment, enough reserve evaporation and a pressure that holds are everything — if the pressure dips, linen comes out creased and has to be done again. See steam boilers for continuous loads.

03Beverage plants: purity and fast response

In beverage production, steam comes into direct contact with food, so purity and safety are the baseline. Impure water means contaminated steam — and a damaged brand.

Demand also rises and falls quickly, so the equipment must start and stop on demand and respond fast. Electric steam generators with group control are a common answer.

04Pharmaceuticals: redundancy and monitoring

For a pharmaceutical company, steam is tied to GMP certification and to every batch. Sterilisation, fermentation and distillation cannot stop: if the steam fails, the whole batch is lost.

Pharmaceutical steam must therefore be pure and stable, with redundancy and automatic switch-over, remote monitoring and early warnings that keep risk out.

05No universal boiler

The same word — boiler — covers three very different sets of needs. We work with leading customers in laundry, beverages and pharmaceuticals and know what each industry cares about most.

Rather than comparing spec sheets, start from your industry’s real needs. There is no one-size-fits-all boiler; matching it to the application is what gets it right. Tell us your application on the contact page and we will propose a configuration.
